Reality of Aid 2012 Report Theme Statement 

Dear Colleagues,

Warm greetings from the Secretariat!

As you know, the Reality of Aid publishes the biennial global report and this year preparations will be done with you on how we can come out with the RoA 2012 Report. The RoA 2010 Report that we launched at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris, France last October 2010 was very well received and we aim to achieve or even surpass such success.

An emerging trend in development cooperation is aid and the private sector and so the RoA International Coordinating Committee, in consultation with a number of RoA members, has chosen this to be the 2012 Report theme.

Please find attached the 2012 Report Theme Statement. Kindly go over the document and make plans on how your organisation can contribute to the Report. Below is the Report’s timeline for your reference:

All chapters submitted to RoA Secretariat in IBON (give to content editor to comment and suggest changes, additional write-up, etc.) Mid-January 2012
Comments from the Content Editor returned to authors for revisions; authors send back revised articles February to mid-April  2012
All revised drafts submitted back to Editorial Board/Content Editor for second round of content editing Mid-April to May 2012
All final articles submitted to RoA Secretariat for  copy editing First week June 2012
Copy editing and Layout finalised July 2010
Final sign-off by content editor and ROA ICC Early August 2012
Final corrected proofs to Printing Press August 2012
Printed copies available from IBON Publishing in Manila September 2012
Copies reaching participating organizations (allow 2 weeks delivery) September 2012
International Launch October 2012


The Global Secretariat is in the process of preparing for the Global Meeting that accompanies the preparation of the 2012 Report. It is scheduled to be held in November, a few days before the High-Level Forum in Busan. Details will be sent out once administrative, logistics and financial needs are settled.
